Drills for Aluminum Parts
Sandvik Coromant (Fair Lawn, NJ) offers new optimized
drills suited for machining components in medium-to-large volumes. CoroDrill 400 and CoroDrill 430 deliver
high throughput, extended tool life, and enhanced process
security. The drills are available as standard products in
5, 6. 8, 7, 8. 5, 10. 2, and 12. 5 millimeter diameters, which
correspond to M6, M8, M10, M12, and M14 thread sizes.
CoroDrill 400 is recommended for drilling into solid
material. CoroDrill 430 will perform better when drilling
into cored material or pre-cast holes.
Grooving and Turning System
Kennametal Foundation (Latrobe, PA) features A4
tooling for turning, facing, grooving, face grooving, and
cut-off applications across a broad range of workpiece
materials. Its clamping system and insert geometry deliver
a high metal removal rate. Rigid clamping securely locks
insert in place through tough cuts. Tool design enables one
system to handle outside diameter and inside diameter
applications. The tool provides fast cycle times, no turret
indexes, precise insert positioning for accurate cuts, and
chip control in multidirectional turning.
High Feed Milling Cutters
The Ingersoll Cutting Tools (Rockford, IL) high feed
milling cutter series of 6-millimeter inserts are available
in endmill, modular head, facemill, and Chip-Surfer style.
Higher densities are designed to increase productivity.
The milling cutters feature four indexes that provide cost-effective machining, strong positive insert rake face angles
for efficient milling, rigid clamping and M2.5 high tensile
clamping screw, and lower cutting force. Applications
include operations in aerospace, die & mold, and general
